Kwalitee Issues

manifest_matches_dist

Run a proper command ("make manifest" or "./Build manifest", maybe with a force option), or use a distribution builder to generate the MANIFEST. Or update MANIFEST manually.

Error:

  • MANIFEST (262) does not match dist (261):
  • Duplicates in MANIFEST: t/txt/3_nodes_5_edges.txt

valid_signature

Sign the dist as the last step before creating the archive. Take care not to modify/regenerate dist meta files or the manifest.

Error: Old SIGNATURE detected. Please inform the module author to regenerate SIGNATURE using Module::Signature version 0.82 or newer. gpg: Signature made Sat 24 Sep 2005 12:19:59 AM JST gpg: using RSA key 770B3C4393B84C15 gpg: WARNING: signature digest conflict in message gpg: Can't check signature: General error ==> BAD/TAMPERED signature detected! <==

meta_yml_declares_perl_version

If you are using Build.PL define the {requires}{perl} = VERSION field. If you are using MakeMaker (Makefile.PL) you should upgrade ExtUtils::MakeMaker to 6.48 and use MIN_PERL_VERSION parameter. Perl::MinimumVersion can help you determine which version of Perl your module needs.

has_meta_json

Add a META.json to the distribution. Your buildtool should be able to autogenerate it.

use_warnings

Add 'use warnings' (or its equivalents) to all modules, or convince us that your favorite module is well-known enough and people can easily see the modules warn when something bad happens.

Error: Graph::Easy, Graph::Easy::As_ascii, Graph::Easy::As_graphviz, Graph::Easy::As_txt, Graph::Easy::Attributes, Graph::Easy::Edge, Graph::Easy::Edge::Cell, Graph::Easy::Group, Graph::Easy::Group::Cell, Graph::Easy::Layout, Graph::Easy::Layout::Path, Graph::Easy::Layout::Scout, Graph::Easy::Node, Graph::Easy::Node::Anon, Graph::Easy::Node::Cell, Graph::Easy::Node::Empty, Graph::Easy::Parser

consistent_version

Split the distribution, or fix the version numbers to make them consistent (use the highest version number to avoid version downgrade).

Error: 0.02,0.04,0.05,0.06,0.07,0.08,0.11,0.14,0.15,0.30

meta_yml_has_provides

Add all modules contained in this distribution to the META.yml field 'provides'. Module::Build or Dist::Zilla::Plugin::MetaProvides do this automatically for you.

meta_yml_has_repository_resource

Add a 'repository' resource to the META.yml via 'meta_add' accessor (for Module::Build) or META_ADD parameter (for ExtUtils::MakeMaker).

has_security_doc

Add SECURITY(.pod|md). See Software::Security::Policy.

security_doc_contains_contact

Add SECURITY(.pod|md) and add a contact address. See Software::Security::Policy.

has_contributing_doc

Add CONTRIBUTING(.pod|md). See https://docs.github.com/en/communities/setting-up-your-project-for-healthy-contributions/setting-guidelines-for-repository-contributors.
